Non-Symmetric Flavors

Before I started the great Cosby tradition, posts had ... normal titles. One also occasionally slipped through early in the Cosby Period.

Non-Symmetric Flavors

Now, i'm not here to debate about the transitive properties of 'equals' or anything like that, but at first glance, something seems wrong with the following statement.

A is the opposite of B, and C is the opposite of D, and A tastes the same as C but B does not taste the same as D.

One would assume that B and D would taste the same. Take the slightly different case of male and female. Man is the opposite of Woman and Boy is the opposite of Girl. Boy and Man are 'similar' and Girl and Woman are 'similar'. Please don't consider these examples under the category of tasting...

The point of this blog is getting lost, but I'll make it here.

Chocolate Ice Cream is the opposite of Vanilla Ice Cream. Chocolate Milk is the opposite of White Milk. Chocolate Ice Cream tastes like Chocolate Milk, but Vanilla Ice Cream does not taste like White Milk!
